Applications for the Attila İlhan Literature Awards have begun

According to a statement from the Attila İlhan Science, Art and Culture Foundation, the competition will award the 'Attila İlhan Literature Prize' to one poetry book and one novel published in 2023, and will also present the 'Foundation Special Encouragement Award' to a debut novel and a debut poetry book.

The deadline for the competition, which is organized to keep alive the ideas and memory of the renowned poet, novelist, thinker, journalist, screenwriter, and critic Attila İlhan, has been set for June 13.

Through the competition, which was established by the İlhan family in 2008 following his passing, the aim is to support works that are worthy of the mission of 'realizing a national cultural synthesis,' a theme reflected in every work by Attila İlhan.

SELECTION COMMITTEE ANNOUNCED

The novel selection committee, for which Doğan Hızlan serves as honorary president, is chaired by Mehmet Eroğlu and includes Faruk Şüyün, Handan Coşgun, Seval Şahin, and Ali Cem İlhan representing the family. Metin Celal serves as the chair of the poetry selection committee, with members including A. Ali Ural, Adnan Özer, Tuğrul Tanyol, and Yakup Çelik.

Authors wishing to participate in the competition must submit 10 copies of their work along with an application form—which can be downloaded from the foundation's website at www.tilahan.org—clearly indicating the category of entry, and a short biography including contact information, to the Attila İlhan Science, Art and Culture Foundation.
