According to a report by the New York Post, the 900-year-old structure, built in 1130, is spread over a 26,909-square-meter palace-like area on a 3.7-acre plot and has a total of 50 rooms.

HISTORY OF MOZART'S FAMOUS CASTLE

The four-story building features unique old-style rooms such as a chapel and a dungeon, as well as a cinema, library, and entertainment area. According to a report by Top 10 Real Estate Deals, the structure underwent some changes in the 15th and 17th centuries and has hosted famous visitors over the years, including Napoleon Bonaparte, Pope Pius VI, Princess Isabella of Bourbon-Parma, and Emperor Franz Stephan of Lorraine.

Previously listed at a price of 13.127 million dollars, this iconic structure is described by the auction house Sotheby’s International Realty as “one of the few structures in Lower Austria still in private hands.”

WILL BE UP FOR SALE STARTING DECEMBER 1

The four-story building, which contains various amenities, is also an important part of music history. Mozart began preparing his famous ‘Requiem’, now considered one of the world's most valuable works, in this castle. However, the famous composer passed away in 1791 at the age of 35, leaving his final masterpiece, the Requiem, unfinished.

The previous owners of the castle used the structure as a first-class attraction and event center for musical performances and conferences, but the castle currently also hosts independent businesses such as a club lounge and a theater.
