Tarık Akan to be commemorated with events in Bakırköy on the 10th anniversary of his passing

A commemoration program will be held in Bakırköy for Tarık Akan, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema, on the 10th anniversary of his passing. The events to be held on September 16 will be attended by Akan's family, students, teachers, fellow artists, and the people of Bakırköy.

The program will begin at the Private Taş Primary and Secondary School, which Akan founded in 1991. The commemoration events will then continue at Bakırköy Square in cooperation with IBB Culture and the Bakırköy Municipality.

The portion at Bakırköy Square is planned to take place between 19:00 and 21:00. In the arts section of the event, clips from films in which Tarık Akan starred will be shown, and songs identified with these productions will be performed.

Various artists and the Taş School Choir will take the stage as part of the program. Works such as “Yalancı Yarim”, “Ateş Böceği”, “Mavi Boncuk”, “Her Şey Seninle Güzel”, “Deli Mavi”, and “Ayrılık” will be presented to the audience.

The musical performances will be accompanied by cinevision screenings featuring footage from different periods of Akan's life. Additionally, a video screening containing photographs from the artist's life and artistic journey will be presented.
