The incident occurred around 18:00 in the Çiftlik neighborhood of Gölcük. According to allegations, an argument broke out between Murat Saral, an MHP council member for the Gölcük Municipality, and an individual identified as A.I.U.
Following the argument, A.I.U. fired a handgun at Saral.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
Saral, who was critically wounded by bullets hitting his body, lost his life at the Gölcük Necati Çelik State Hospital, to which he was transported by the medical team that arrived at the scene.
Police teams have launched an operation to apprehend the suspect, who fled after the incident.
