14 arrests in İzmir electric shock tragedy
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that 14 out of 27 suspects detained in the investigation into the deaths of 2 people who were electrocuted during heavy rainfall in İzmir have been arrested.
According to information shared by Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, 14 of the 27 suspects detained as part of the judicial investigation launched by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the deaths of 2 people who were electrocuted while trying to take shelter from heavy rain in İzmir's Konak district have been ordered to be arrested.
Additionally, house arrest was ordered for 7 suspects, and a travel ban was imposed on 6 suspects. In his statement, Minister Tunç said, “The investigation is being conducted meticulously. I once again wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in this incident that saddened us all, and I extend my condolences and patience to their families and loved ones.”
