15 arrests in forest fire investigations

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that 23 suspects were identified in investigations conducted regarding 22 forest fires between August 22 and 30. Tunç reported that 3 of these suspects were arrested, while judicial control measures were applied to 9 others.

Tunç stated that 1 suspect is currently in custody and arrest warrants have been issued for 2 suspects.

69 SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED SINCE JUNE 1

Minister Tunç announced that a total of 69 suspects have been identified in judicial proceedings conducted regarding 97 forest fires since June 1. Reporting that 15 suspects have been arrested and judicial control measures have been applied to 30 suspects within this scope, Tunç stated that 1 suspect is in custody and arrest warrants are active for 2 suspects.

Tunç stated that the investigations are continuing under the coordination of Public Prosecutor's Offices, law enforcement units, and forest protection teams, adding that the causes of the fires and those responsible continue to be investigated.

“We are continuing our struggle to protect our Green Homeland with determination.

In the investigations conducted regarding 22 new forest fires between August 22 and 30, 23 suspects were identified; 3 suspects were arrested, and judicial control measures were applied to 9 suspects. While the detention procedures for 1 suspect are ongoing, there are arrest warrants for 2 suspects.

Since June 1, a total of 69 suspects have been identified in judicial proceedings regarding 97 forest fires. 15 suspects were arrested, and judicial control measures were applied to 30 suspects. 1 suspect is in custody, and there are arrest warrants for 2 suspects.

Our Public Prosecutor's Offices, in coordination with our law enforcement units and forest protection teams, continue to investigate the causes of the fires and those responsible down to the finest detail.

I state once again: No one who harms our Green Homeland through intent, negligence, or carelessness should think that their actions will go unpunished.”
