With the amendment made to the Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Drinking Milk, 4 different classes of milk (Whole Fat, Fatty, Semi-Skimmed, Skimmed) have been established. The addition of glucose and fructose syrup to flavored milks has been strictly prohibited. The use of the word "natural" is permitted only for whole fat and fatty milks.
In accordance with the Communiqué on Rolling Paper, the use of flavorings, sugar, colorants, and sweeteners in rolling papers produced in Turkey or imported and offered to the domestic market has been prohibited. A requirement has been introduced for health warnings to cover 2/3 of the packages. Rolling papers produced in Turkey for export purposes have been excluded from the regulation.
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has set the electricity transmission surcharge to be applied as of January 1, 2027, at 7 per thousand of the transmission tariff of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ).
With the Communiqué on Amateur Fisheries, a requirement to obtain a license certificate for amateur fishing vessels has been introduced, effective from September 1, 2027. Fishing has been completely prohibited in the traffic separation schemes of the Istanbul and Çanakkale Straits.
With the Regulation on Civil Aviation Safety Occurrences, it has become mandatory for obligated persons—such as captains, air traffic controllers, ground handling personnel, and personnel working in maintenance and airworthiness—to report occurrences that may pose a risk to aviation safety within 3 days of becoming aware of them. Data obtained through such reporting cannot be used to impose criminal or civil liability on individuals, and both the reporters and those mentioned in the reports will be kept confidential. No administrative sanctions will be applied for actions resulting from the reporting of non-intentional occurrences; however, sanctions may be applied in cases of gross negligence and clear disregard for serious risks. The regulation in question will enter into force in 6 months.
With the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Flavorings, flavorings derived from pigs and insects have been prohibited. A deadline of December 31, 2026, has been set for 10 different flavoring substances. After this date, these substances cannot be placed on the market, used in food production, or imported. A minimum 95% source requirement will be applied for the use of the term "natural" alongside the source name on labels.
With the amendment made to the Regulation on Domestic Transportation of Live Animals, live animals transported without documents or identification (ear tags) that are found suitable for slaughter by a veterinarian will be slaughtered without delay. Conversely, those not approved by the veterinarian will be placed directly into quarantine, and scheduled vaccinations will be completed during the quarantine period.
