2 of those detained after the Saraçhane rally arrested: 35 people had been taken into custody
Following the anniversary of the "The Nation Protects Its Will" rallies, which began in Saraçhane after the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and CHP Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, a police intervention took place after the rally held in front of the IMM building in Saraçhane.
Following the rally held in Saraçhane, police intervened against young people located near the rally area.
During the intervention, 35 people, most of whom were children, were taken into custody.
While 31 of those detained were released, 4 were referred to the prosecutor's office. Of those referred to the prosecutor's office, 2 were arrested, while the others were released under judicial control measures.
2 PEOPLE ARRESTED
It was learned that 2 of the 4 people referred to the Çağlayan Courthouse to give statements to the prosecutor were arrested.
It was reported that one youth was charged with "insulting the President" and "resisting to prevent the performance of duty," while the other was charged with "resisting to prevent the performance of duty."
Judicial control measures were issued for the other 2 individuals.
