Economic admission and ballot box warning from AKP's Tayyar: We could not ensure justice in income
AKP member Şamil Tayyar, who frequently shares his views on the country's political and economic agenda on social media and does not shy away from issuing ballot box warnings to his party, pointed to the negative aspects of the country's economic situation and issued a warning regarding the ballot box in his latest post.
Criticizing Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek's strict tax audits targeting small businesses through examples and complaints from his circle, Tayyar emphasized that while audits are necessary, their timing is also important.
Stating that the practices have begun to disturb citizens, Tayyar made an admission, saying, "We could not ensure justice in income."
Here is that post by Şamil Tayyar:
"I have been in the industrial city of Gaziantep for two days.
Uncontrolled and excessive tax audits are at the top of the list of complaints.
A baklava maker asked, 'Let them audit, but can there be 16 tax audits in 1 year?'
A restaurant owner said: 'One leaves, another comes; sometimes they raid in large groups, customers panic, they sit next to the cash register and count receipts one by one.'
I had heard these grievances many times during my previous trips to Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, Trabzon, and Ankara.
Treating tradesmen and merchants like potential thieves and squeezing them, and going overboard with audits, is oppression.
It is as politically harmful as it is economically unproductive.
If you think you are right, then ensure justice in auditing.
Audit not only the citizens but also public institutions and all municipalities without exception 16 times a year, and place a detective next to everyone with signing authority.
We could not ensure justice in income, at least let us ensure justice in auditing.
Let us not forget, the most genuine audit is done by the citizen at the ballot box."
