A notification has been sent to liquor stores, markets, kiosks, and similar businesses around Fenerbahçe's stadium in Kadıköy regarding the prohibition of alcoholic beverage sales during match hours.
According to the notification, the implementation will cover matches played at Chobani Stadium and its surroundings throughout the 2026-2027 football season. The restriction will begin with the Süper Lig match where Fenerbahçe will host Göztepe.

The Law on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports was cited as the basis for the decision. In the notification, the reasons for the implementation were listed as "protecting public order," "ensuring the life and property safety of fans," and "preventing potential violence and disorder."
Accordingly, businesses with an alcohol sales license will not be able to offer alcohol directly or indirectly, in open or closed packaging, during the specified hours. Providing an environment for alcohol consumption at tables and chairs in front of businesses will also not be permitted.
DISCUSSIONS ON A NEW STADIUM IN MALTEPE HAD BEGUN
The notification coincided with a period when discussions regarding whether Fenerbahçe's stadium would move from Kadıköy to Maltepe were ongoing. Former president Aziz Yıldırım stated in his speech at the High Council Board that the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change could allocate a new stadium to Fenerbahçe.
Yıldırım claimed that the 75,000-capacity stadium planned to be built in Maltepe for EURO 2032 was allocated to Fenerbahçe in exchange for leaving Kadıköy. High Council Board President Şekip Mosturoğlu, on the other hand, stated that it was not possible to move the stadium and that the stadium would remain with Fenerbahçe as long as the club exists.
