Allegations that 'questions were distributed in advance' at the Diyanet: Exam cancelled abruptly

A striking allegation has emerged regarding the exam organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) for candidates wishing to serve as health personnel during the 2025 Hajj organization.

According to a report by BirGün; the exam was completed on November 9. However, the exam, which was held centrally in 19 cities including Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, was cancelled on December 20 “due to necessity.”

DIYANET: THE EXAM WILL BE HELD AGAIN

Diyanet announced that the cancelled exam, which thousands of candidates took, would be held again, but the date for the new exam was not announced. In the notice sent to the candidates, it was stated, “Information regarding the location and date of the test exam will be shared later via SMS through the contact numbers provided by the health personnel during their application.”

REASON FOR CANCELLATION NOT DISCLOSED

While the Presidency of Religious Affairs did not disclose the reason for the cancellation of the exam, the claim from presidential sources regarding the reason for the cancellation was shocking. According to the allegation, the exam questions were given to some administrators before the exam. It was also claimed that those who received the questions sent them to their relatives, and it was argued that a candidate who took the exam in Adana shared the questions in WhatsApp groups.

ALLEGATION THAT QUESTIONS ARE CIRCULATING IN WHATSAPP GROUPS

According to the information obtained, a candidate who took the exam complained to CİMER that the questions were circulating in a WhatsApp group. Following the complaint, inspectors launched an investigation and a decision to cancel was made.

Diyanet sources claimed that the questions were distributed in order to “ensure that the people they wanted would qualify for the interview.”

Personnel who go to the Hajj on duty receive a daily allowance of nearly 2,000 TL.
