Arms smuggling operation in Gaziantep: 3 detained
The Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Command raided a business in the Nurdağı district. As a result of the raid, unlicensed weapons and ammunition were seized. The business owner and 2 other individuals were taken into custody.
The Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted an operation on a business in the Nurdağı district as part of the nationwide fight against smuggling. As a result of the operation, unlicensed weapons and ammunition were seized.
According to the statement made by the Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Command, within the scope of the “Mercek” (Lens) operations carried out nationwide to combat smuggling, an operation was launched on the business belonging to an individual identified as H.K. in the Nurdağı district under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office, following the determination that there were long-barreled weapons and pistols on the premises.
During the operation, 4 unlicensed long-barreled weapons, 3 unlicensed pistols, 10 magazines, 1 thousand 488 pistol cartridges, and 268 long-barreled weapon cartridges were seized.
Regarding the incident, the business owner H.K., along with two individuals identified as M.K. and K.K., were taken into custody.
