The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced that, as part of a betting investigation, 42 representatives—including Hayri, the brother of former Foreign Minister and AKP Antalya Deputy Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu—have been referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) for having been found to have placed bets on football matches.The TFF announced that 42 representatives, including Hayri Çavuşoğlu, were referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK).

"In the scope of the betting investigation conducted by the Turkish Football Federation, it has been decided to refer 42 representatives, whose names are listed below and who were found to have engaged in betting on football matches, to the PFDK with precautionary measures effective from December 26, 2025, in accordance with Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions.

During the ongoing betting investigation process, resignations were submitted to the TFFA letter has been written to the Spor Toto Organization Presidency to determine whether the 33 representatives who submitted theirdeclarationshave placed bets on football matches, and a response is currently awaited."

What does Article 57 say?

"(1) Persons covered by this Instruction;

a) Football matchesand/or any activity related to football on, it isprohibited to

place direct or indirect bets or participate in similar games of chance.

b) Regarding footballmatchesit is prohibited to organizebetting or similar promote, mediate, or

organize games of chance or similar activities or transactions, or in businesses, organizations, and institutions thatcarry out such activities(excluding public institutions and organizations)they cannot holdany position or have any interest, directly orindirectly.

(2) Individuals who act in violation of thisindividuals, shall be punished with a ban from matches or a suspension of rights for a period ranging from three months to oneyear.The penalty for such violations includes a ban from matches or a suspension of rights.is punished with.

(3) It is prohibited to promote or advertise betting organizations that are not licensed by the competent authorities in any medium, including through the use of advertising boards and other equipment located in stadiums. This prohibition also applies tothe affiliates of said organizationsand these organizations including promotional and advertising activities that are misleading. In the event of non-compliance with this prohibition:a) For Super Lig clubs, a fine of 2,500,000 TL for the first violation, 5,000,000 TL for the second, 10,000,000 TL for the third, and 10,000,000 TL for each subsequent violation,

along with a 3-point deduction penalty,b) For 1st League clubs, a fine of 1,000,000 TL for the first violation, 2,000,000 TL for the second, 4,000,000 TL for the third, and 4,000,000 TL for each subsequent violation,along with a 3-point deduction penalty,

c) For 2nd League clubs, a fine of 500,000 TL for the first violation, 1,000,000 TL for the second, 2,000,000 TL for the third, and 2,000,000 TL for each subsequent violation,along with a 3-point deduction penalty,d) For 3rd League clubs, a fine of 250,000 TL for the first violation, 500,000 TL for the second, 1,000,000 TL for the third, and 1,000,000 TL for each subsequent violation, along with a 3-point deduction penalty.

c) For 2nd and 3rd League clubs, a fine of 250,000 TL for the first violation, 500,000 TL for the second violation, 1,000,000 TL for the third violation, and 1,000,000 TL for each subsequent violationalong with a 3-point deduction penalty,d) In other leagues, a fine of 125,000 TL for the first violation, 250,000 TL for the second violation,
