CBRT announces discount rate reduction

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has announced that the discount rate for CPI-indexed Government Debt Securities (GDS) and lease certificates has been reduced from 80 percent to 30 percent.

The CBRT announced that the discount rate for CPI-indexed collateral has been lowered to 30 percent.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has revised the collateral discount rates applicable to Open Market Operations, Interbank Money Market, and Foreign Exchange Market transactions.

With the change, the discount rate applied to the acceptance of Consumer Price Index (CPI)-indexed government debt securities (GDS) and lease certificates as collateral has been reduced from 80 percent to 30 percent.

In the statement made by the CBRT, it was stated: "The collateral discount rates applicable to Open Market, Interbank Money Market, and Foreign Exchange Market transactions at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey have been reviewed.

In this context, it has been decided to reduce the discount rate for CPI-indexed GDS and lease certificates from 80% to 30%.
