CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's 'street' message
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated, "If there is no negotiation left to be had with a government that will not raise the minimum wage, then the task at hand is to struggle."
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel answered questions from members of the press.
''THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND THE MHP IS THIS;...''
Özel used the following sentences: "Today they announced that they will not raise the minimum wage. If there is no negotiation left to be had in this area with a government that will not raise the minimum wage, then the task at hand is to struggle. We will be on the streets on June 30 at the Great Labor Rally to be held in Kocaeli to give the government our answer regarding its stance on not raising the minimum wage. The difference between us and the MHP is this; we do not have a mentality that collects votes by saying 'we will be the opposition' at the ballot box and then changes sides by 180 degrees before another ballot box is placed. We did not receive a mandate from the nation to fight. Our politics is the most resilient and effective politics."
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan had announced that there would be no mid-year raise for the minimum wage.
