CHP deputies issue convention ultimatum! Declaration expected to be released

Following the absolute nullity process, the establishment of the YENİ Party, and the subsequent splits, it is claimed that a portion of the 44 deputies remaining in the CHP have made their criticisms of the party leadership more visible. It is alleged that the deputies, who want the convention to be convened as soon as possible, have held a series of evaluation meetings among themselves and are preparing to release a joint declaration next week.

PREPARATIONS FOR A JOINT TEXT FOR A CONVENTION CALL

According to a report by Odatv, approximately 10 to 15 deputies in the group described as the "third way" within the party are acting in concert.

Speaking on the matter, a CHP deputy stated that they are working on a text to be shared with the public next week, saying, "We may release a statement, that is, a declaration, next week." The same deputy expressed that they plan to announce their demands for a convention to the public in a clear manner.

CONGRESS AGENDA IN PARLIAMENTARY CORRIDORS

While it is stated that evaluations regarding a possible convention calendar are continuing in party corridors, it is claimed that opposition deputies have intensified their contacts to accelerate the process.

According to the allegations, it is expected that the deputies who chose to remain in the party rather than leaving the CHP will voice their demands for the convention to be convened more strongly in the coming period.

PROCESS EVALUATION FROM ÖRSAN KUNTER ÖYMEN

Örsan Kunter Öymen, founder and spokesperson of the CHP Principles and Democracy Movement (İDH), also made statements regarding the developments in the CHP and the establishment of the YENİ Party.

Öymen used the following expressions:

"The 'absolute nullity' decision taken by the AKP regime and the judiciary regarding the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration is absolutely unacceptable. No binding decision has been taken regarding resigning from the CHP and joining the YENİ Party; everyone is acting of their own free will. Approximately 60 percent of İDH members decided to remain within the CHP so that those who moved to the YENİ Party could return to the CHP and integration could be achieved. During the ordinary convention process, work will be initiated to establish a committee to nominate candidates for the party chairmanship, the Party Assembly, and provincial and district administrations."
