CHP leader Özgür Özel visits Vahap Seçer

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel paid a visit to Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer. During the meeting, where projects and works in the region were discussed, Seçer emphasized that as a municipality, they aim to make Mersin a more livable city with the investments they have made in social, economic, and infrastructure areas.

Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and CHP Deputy Chairman in Charge of Local Governments Gökan Zeybek also attended the visit.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer said, “Just as we served the people of Mersin during our previous 5-year term, we will continue to increase our services together with your support. The fact that our esteemed Chairman is here in Mersin, which is a projection of Turkey; his mastery of issues due to his many years of political experience and previous duties, and his close knowledge of issues in every corner of Turkey is a very important advantage for us.”

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel said, “While receiving the vote of 1 out of every 2 people is a miraculous feat in municipal governance, you received votes at the 60 percent threshold. You did not do this with an alliance; you did it as a candidate of one party. But in practice, you brought a great alliance, the ‘Mersin Alliance,’ to life. If we ask, ‘Where has the party come from and where has it gone in Mersin over the past 5 years?’; it has come from a point where there was a Nationalist Movement Party Metropolitan Municipality to a point where a CHP mayor is running for a Turkey record. No success is coincidental, and no success is without substance.”
