Dense fog in Istanbul affects transportation: Bosphorus closed to ship traffic
The fog, which intensified in the morning hours, reduced visibility around the Bosphorus and Üsküdar; the Sirkeci-Harem car ferry service has been cancelled.
Dense fog, which was effective in Istanbul during the morning hours, caused disruptions in land and sea transportation across the city. It was reported that visibility dropped to a few meters in some places, particularly around the Bosphorus and Üsküdar.
The fog was observed intensely along the Bosphorus line and in higher areas. Due to limited visibility, the Bosphorus was temporarily closed to ship traffic.

It was learned that the Sirkeci-Harem car ferry service was cancelled due to the sea conditions. It was stated that there were no other cancellations in the City Lines services outside of this route.

Coastal Safety officials reported that the Bosphorus line was temporarily closed to traffic due to limited visibility. It was also conveyed that international maritime traffic has been halted due to the fog.
