Ekrem İmamoğlu shares 'God forbid' post: He listed them one by one

İmamoğlu was sentenced to a 'political ban' and 2 years and 1 month in prison in the case where he is being tried for his remarks regarding former Tuzla Mayor Şadi Yazıcı.

Making a striking defense, İmamoğlu shared the notable words he uttered during the hearing.

A 'political ban' and a 2-year and 1-month prison sentence were handed down against İmamoğlu in the case where he had previously been acquitted twice.

HE HAD BEEN ACQUITTED TWICE

İmamoğlu was tried 3 years ago for his remarks regarding former Tuzla Mayor Şadi Yazıcı and was acquitted twice, but the appellate court overturned the decision on the grounds of procedural irregularity.

HE SHARED THOSE LINES FROM HIS DEFENSE

Making his defense at the hearing, Ekrem İmamoğlu stated, "It is a scandal that even this court is established here, and this opinion is baseless. You are in the position of a judge on behalf of the Turkish judiciary; you will make a decision on behalf of the Turkish nation. I wish and hope that you can make this decision."

The expressions İmamoğlu used while making his defense were shared from the X account named "Presidential Candidate Office."

İmamoğlu added the following note to the post in question: "May God protect this country from those who do not love its people, those who set people against each other, those who polarize the nation, those who say 'if you are not on our side, you will be eliminated,' those who say 'choose your side,' those who make transfers through intimidation, those who usurp the national will by throwing people in jail, those who see those who think differently as enemies, and those who try to silence their opponents."
