CHP Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu has reacted to the draft law being prepared for the euthanasia of stray animals.
The AKP is preparing to amend the Animal Protection Law for a new regulation regarding stray animals.
Acting upon the request of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, AKP officials have initiated work on a draft law that envisions the "euthanasia" of stray dogs on the grounds that they pose a "life-threatening danger."
The regulation in question has sparked public debate.
