Erdoğan says we are 'being tested' by economic crisis: 'Do not believe the nonsense'
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at his party's rally in Isparta. Erdoğan said, "Today, we are being tested by the cost of living and the loss of welfare among our fixed-income citizens."
With 11 days left until the local elections, President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at his party's rally in Isparta.
In his speech, Erdoğan stated that Turkey is being tested by an economic crisis and the high cost of living.
Highlights from Erdoğan's remarks are as follows:
"AS INFLATION FALLS..."
"For the last 10 years, Turkey has been subjected to numerous tests, from terrorism to coup attempts, and from pandemics to conflicts. The 'disaster of the century' earthquakes further increased the burden on us. We are currently at a point where we are heading toward local government elections. Today, we are being tested by the cost of living and the loss of welfare among our fixed-income citizens. With God's permission, we will overcome these as well. We will begin to see the results of the program starting from the second half of this year. Our indicators are quite good. Our national income, employment, production, and exports are at the highest levels in our history. As inflation falls, we will find the opportunity to better reflect the benefits of this picture to our employees and retirees. Do not believe the nonsense outside of this.
"TURKEY IS A PLAYER IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE"
There were days in this country when there was a danger that salaries could not be paid to retirees, civil servants, and workers. In those days, both the number of employees and retirees and the total amounts were small figures. Today, Turkey is a player in a very different league with 32 million employees and 16 million retirees. By maintaining trust and stability, we have never allowed our country to deviate from its goals."
