European Union statement on green and grey passports for Turkey! Will a visa be required?
The European Union has issued a statement regarding claims that a visa requirement has been imposed on Turkish citizens holding green and grey passports.
In recent days, claims have emerged suggesting that a visa requirement has been introduced for entry into European Union countries with green and grey passports.
The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has denied these claims.
A statement has also come from the European Union.
In a statement shared on the social media account of the EU Delegation to Turkey, it was stated, "Turkey will not be part of ETIAS, and Turkish travelers who have visa-free entry rights will not be required to apply for ETIAS."
The statement noted that since Turkey is not a visa-exempt country, it does not fall within this scope.
It was reported that Turkish citizens holding green and grey passports can travel without needing authorization.
The Center for Combating Disinformation had also previously stated, "The claim appearing in some media outlets that 'Green and grey passport holders will pay 7 Euros for European travel, and those who are rejected will not be able to enter the EU' is not true."
WHAT IS ETIAS?
The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), created by the European Union, is a travel authorization program.
ETIAS aims to pre-screen individuals traveling visa-free to the Schengen Area for security purposes.
This system requires travelers wishing to enter the Schengen Area to fill out an online form before obtaining travel authorization.
