Forest fire in Fethiye, Göcek
A fire that broke out at a residence in Göcek Bay, in the Fethiye district of Muğla, has spread to a forested area. While a luxury villa was engulfed in flames, teams have launched aerial and ground operations to extinguish the fire that spread to the forest.
The fire occurred at around 17:00 at a residence in the Ovacık area of Göcek. According to information obtained, the fire, which started in a villa-style residence observed to have wooden exterior cladding, grew in a short time and spread to the nearby forested area.

Upon the report made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, teams from the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department and the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region. The teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, began to intervene in the fire from the ground.
While firefighting planes and helicopters belonging to the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry are also providing aerial support against the flames, the teams continue their efforts to bring the fire under control.
