Gökhan Günaydın speaks out in front of the Constitutional Court: 'A mentality of whoever touches İmamoğlu gets burned'
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın made a statement in front of the Constitutional Court (AYM). Günaydın stated, "They are carrying out actions that can be described as attacks beyond any legal initiative, with a mentality of 'whoever touches İmamoğlu gets burned'."
Following the detention of Mehmet Pehlivan, the lawyer for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested and sent to prison, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın made a statement in front of the Constitutional Court (AYM).
"They are carrying out actions that can be described as attacks beyond any legal initiative, with a mentality of 'whoever touches İmamoğlu gets burned'" said Günaydın, adding the following:
"As of this moment, the lawyers of Ekrem İmamoğlu's lawyer are making efforts to defend Ekrem İmamoğlu's lawyer, Mehmet Pehlivan, at the police station. They are carrying out actions that can be described as attacks beyond any legal initiative, with a mentality of 'whoever touches İmamoğlu gets burned'. We will continue to stand on the side of justice here with resistance and determination."
Ekrem İmamoğlu's lawyer, Mehmet Pehlivan, was detained during the night under the allegation of 'laundering assets derived from crime' and within the scope of the 'Law on Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime'.
