Good news for 5 million people: Title deed regulation coming for 2B lands

Making statements at the 178th Anniversary Program of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that a new title deed regulation affecting approximately 5 million citizens will be implemented. 

Announcing that a new study will be initiated for 2B status 'treasury lands that have lost their forest character', Kurum stated, "We will complete the identification work in all areas that have lost their character. We will take steps to solve the title deed problem. May property rights be auspicious from now on.

Regarding zoning plans and the registration of 2B areas, we will overcome the problems related to the pending zoning rights of our citizens together. We will keep the promises we made on the campaign trail," he said.

Stating that 5 million citizens will be affected by the regulation, Kurum said, "With our land registry organization, we will not leave a single square meter of 2B area unregistered. We will complete the identification work in all areas that have lost their forest character by the end of this year. We will rapidly identify the users of these areas and ensure our citizens who have been waiting for their title deeds for years receive them," he added.
