IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu explains one by one: If these are crimes, yes, I am guilty

İmamoğlu, through his Presidential Candidate Office account, listed his life from birth in bullet points and stated, "If these are crimes, yes, I am GUILTY!"

CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been imprisoned at the Marmara Prison in Silivri since March 23, made a post on his social media account following the acceptance of the indictment prepared against him.

Emphasizing the services he has provided since the day he was elected mayor, İmamoğlu said, "If these are crimes, I am guilty."

Citing a series of excerpts from his life story since birth, İmamoğlu wrote the following:

"I was born in Trabzon in 1971.

I graduated from Trabzon High School in 1988.

I graduated from Istanbul University's Department of Business Administration in English in 1994.

I became a Trabzonspor executive in 2002.

I became the CHP Beylikdüzü District Chair in 2009.

In March 2014, I was elected Mayor of Beylikdüzü with 51% of the vote.

In March 2019, I became the IMM Mayor with a margin of 13,600 votes.

In June 2019, I became the IMM Mayor with a margin of 806,000 votes.

In March 2024, I became the IMM Mayor with a margin of 1 million 100 thousand votes.

In June 2024, I became the President of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB).

In March 2025, I became the nation's Presidential Candidate with the votes of 15.5 million of my fellow citizens.

Furthermore, with the authority granted by my nation and by the grace of God; I have signed off on subways, life valleys, urban forests, İSKİ investments, social housing, urban transformation projects, mother cards, scholarships, social assistance, nurseries, dormitories, Feshane, Gazhane, and many more accomplishments.

If these are crimes, yes, I am GUILTY!"
