Iranian Ambassador summoned to the ministry

The Ministry of National Defense announced today that ballistic ammunition fired from Iran, which passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace, was destroyed over the skies of Hatay.

The Ministry of National Defense announced that the ammunition, which crossed Iraqi and Syrian airspace, was neutralized by the NATO air and missile defense system in the Eastern Mediterranean.

IRANIAN AMBASSADOR SUMMONED TO THE MINISTRY

While an investigation was launched following the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian Ambassador to Ankara to the ministry.

During the meeting, concerns and reactions regarding the incident were conveyed to the Ambassador.

FRAGMENT OF DESTROYED AMMUNITION FELL IN HATAY

It was determined that the fragment that fell in the Dörtyol district of Hatay province following the ballistic ammunition being destroyed in the air by NATO elements belonged to the air defense ammunition used to prevent the threat.

Officials reported that there was no loss of life or injury in the incident.
