İzmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet arrested

CHP İzmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet appeared before the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for her arrest. Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet was arrested by the court.

Within the scope of an investigation conducted into the CHP-run İzmit Municipality in Kocaeli, 21 people were referred to the criminal court of peace with a request for arrest.

Among those referred to the court with a request for arrest were İzmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet and her husband. Of the 21 individuals referred for arrest, 15 have been arrested following the completion of their proceedings.

The names of the individuals arrested by the criminal courts of peace are as follows:

Murat Hürriyet (Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet's husband)
