Uzun's lawyer, Kaan Bayramzade, announced that his client was detained at his home in Bornova under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK). Bayramzade stated that he went to the location where the detention procedures were being carried out to protect legal rights and follow the process.
Detailed information regarding the specific post or statement that served as the basis for the detention has not yet been shared with the public. Last month, Uzun had reported on allegations concerning assets allegedly registered in the name of Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya's family.
SEARCH OF THE HOME AND SEIZURE OF DIGITAL MATERIALS
In a subsequent statement, Bayramzade reported that a search was conducted at Uzun's residence and his digital materials were seized. The lawyer stated that the search was based on a decision issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office on the grounds of "a situation where delay is considered risky."
"We participated in the search conducted at our client's residence today in our capacity as defense counsel. The search was carried out solely based on a decision issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office on the grounds of 'a situation where delay is considered risky,' and digital materials were seized under Article 134 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CMK)."
Bayramzade stated that objections and reservations regarding the procedures would be placed on record during Uzun's statement, and that the judicial approval process would be closely monitored. It was noted that no statement could be made regarding the content of the file for the time being due to the confidentiality of the investigation.
