Lifeless body of Ege, who went missing in the Meriç River, has been found
The lifeless body of 14-year-old Ege İshak Karafidan, who went missing after entering the Meriç River in Edirne to swim, has been recovered by diving teams. The grieving family suffered a nervous breakdown at the scene, and an investigation is underway.
The incident occurred near the Mehmet Müezzinoğlu Bridge on the Meriç River in Edirne. According to the information obtained, two children entered the Meriç River to swim. After a while, one of the children was swept away by the current and went missing. Upon his friend notifying those nearby, the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon the report, UMKE, AFAD, police, gendarmerie, fire department, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams conducted search operations on the water using boats. The Edirne Provincial Police Department requested support from the Underwater Group Command of the Tekirdağ Police Department's Sea Port Branch. The police divers, who arrived in Edirne and began working in the river, reached the lifeless body of 14-year-old Ege İshak Karafidan after a while.

The lifeless body of Karafidan, who lost his life, was taken to the morgue of Trakya University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. The child's family suffered a nervous breakdown at the scene.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
