Military vehicle accident in Tunceli: 4 soldiers martyred

Military vehicle accident in Tunceli: 4 soldiers martyred

An Ejder Yalçın brand military vehicle with license plate 62 JAA 408, which was carrying out a blocking mission in the area of responsibility of the Kuşluca Gendarmerie Station in Tunceli's Ovacık district, rolled into a ditch.

In the accident, 5 soldiers in the vehicle were seriously injured. Upon notification by those nearby, health, AFAD, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene.

The medical teams that arrived at the scene in a short time transported the injured soldiers to Tunceli State Hospital after initial intervention. Despite all interventions, 4 of the injured were martyred.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya also announced that 4 soldiers were martyred in the vehicle accident that occurred in Tunceli.

Minister Yerlikaya made the following statement on his social media account:

"As a result of an armored vehicle overturning during duty in the Ovacık district of Tunceli, our Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeants Ömer Eroğlu, Mehmet Aykanat, Orhan Burak Büyükçaylı and our Gendarmerie Specialist Corporal Doğan Kızılateş have been martyred. Gendarmerie Petty Officer Sergeant Muhammet Koyuncu was injured in the accident.

I wish God's mercy upon our martyrs; I extend my condolences to their families, our heroic Gendarmerie Organization, and our Nation."

TRAGEDY STRIKES TOKAT

The tragic news of the martyrdom of Gendarmerie Specialist Corporal Doğan Kızılateş in the accident was delivered to his family in the Bedestenoğlu neighborhood of Tokat by military officials.

Military officials delivered the news to the family home of Martyr Kızılateş in the Bedestenoğlu neighborhood of Tokat. While a Turkish flag was hung on the balcony of his house, medical teams were kept on standby in the neighborhood. The body of Martyr Kızılateş will be buried tomorrow following the funeral prayer to be held after the afternoon prayer.

It was learned that father Tacettin and mother Gülten Kızılateş have 1 son and 3 daughters, and that the martyr Doğan Kızılateş was single.
