Murat Çalık's mother Gülseren Çalık: 'If my son doesn't get out, bury me in the hospital garden'
While the detention of Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık continues, his mother Gülseren Çalık broke down in tears during a live broadcast. Saying, "If my son doesn't get out, bury me in the hospital garden," the mother called for justice.
Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested during operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), has lost 21 kilos in prison since his arrest on March 23.
Çalık's mother, Gülseren Çalık, who has previously survived cancer twice and is now facing the danger of a recurrence of her illness, rebelled in tears during a live broadcast.

Connecting to Sözcü TV, mother Çalık said, "I am very sad, I am in a state of waiting. I believe that justice will be served. I wish for my son to be released. I am a tearful mother. I said, 'If my son doesn't get out of here, bury me in the garden of this hospital,' I cannot bear it anymore."
Mother Çalık continued as follows:
"I can never bear for my son to experience those days again. This is a matter of life and death for me. I hope our doctors at the Council of Forensic Medicine hear my voice, my cry. Let them not make tearful mothers like me cry any more. Let them grant my child back to me, to his family. We meet once a week."
