The suspect sought in connection with the shooting death of MHP Municipal Council Member Murat Saral during an altercation in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli has been captured.
Police teams determined that the individual suspected of shooting Saral in the Hisareyn Merkez neighborhood yesterday evening was A.İ.U. The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody in the restroom of a gas station in the İznik district of Bursa.
It was learned that the arrest was carried out with the support of İznik gendarmerie and police teams, along with the Kocaeli Homicide Bureau. It was reported that the processing of the detained suspect, A.İ.U., is ongoing at the police station.
The incident had occurred on Kınalı Street in the Hisareyn Merkez neighborhood of the Gölcük district. Despite all interventions at the Gölcük Necati Çelik State Hospital, where he was taken after being shot, Murat Saral could not be saved.
