Operation against the Şimşekler Criminal Organization in 11 provinces centered in Adana: Companies seized
In an investigation centered in Adana, detention warrants were issued for 97 suspects; 64 people were apprehended in the operations, and companies and vehicles were seized.
Within the scope of an investigation coordinated by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out in 11 provinces against the “Şimşekler Criminal Organization.”
In the operation conducted by the Adana Provincial Police Department teams in the morning hours, 64 of the 97 suspects for whom detention warrants had been issued were apprehended and taken into custody.
In the investigation, it is assessed that the organization is led by Halim Şimşek, who is reported to be a fugitive abroad. The suspects are alleged to be linked to numerous acts, including extortion, attempted robbery, armed assault, deprivation of liberty, intentional homicide, and possession of hand grenades.
Within the scope of the operation, seizure procedures were applied to 6 companies stated to belong to the organization's leaders and members, as well as 4 active companies linked to the organization. Additionally, 4 real estate properties and 13 vehicles were seized.
It was reported that the processing of the detained suspects at the police station is ongoing.
