Saadet Party reacts to diesel price hike: We should have understood when they said 'Turkey's Century'
Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan reacted to the fact that the price of a liter of diesel is set to exceed 100 liras in a post on his social media account. Sharing an image of a gas station sign, Arıkan stated, "We should have understood when they said 'Turkey's Century'."
A price hike of 4 lira and 62 kuruş per liter of diesel is expected to take effect starting tonight (September 17).
If the increase is reflected at the pump, the price of diesel will exceed 100 TL in Istanbul and 101 TL in Ankara and Izmir, marking the first time in history that diesel prices have reached triple digits.

Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan also shared a post on his social media account expressing his reaction to the price hike in question.
In his post, which alluded to the AKP's 'Turkey's Century' slogan, Arıkan shared an image of a gas station sign showing the price of diesel at 100 liras and used the phrase, "We should have understood when they said 'Turkey's Century'."
