Statement from the Ministry of Justice on 'virtual patrols'

In a statement released on the Ministry of Justice's social media account regarding the matter, it was noted that the state's authorized units are monitoring accounts that have been making posts related to the attacks. 

The following statements were included in the press release:

"Following the school attack that occurred in the province of Kahramanmaraş, posts made on digital platforms and activities developing in the virtual environment are being closely monitored by the state's authorized units.

In this context, necessary coordination has been established among the 171 offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor for Serious Crimes across 81 provinces to ensure the peace and security of our nation. Necessary judicial proceedings have been promptly initiated against individuals who share content that praises violence, legitimizes crime and criminals, aims to create fear and panic, or publicly spreads misleading information to the public on social media and other digital channels, particularly Telegram.

Acting in coordination with the relevant law enforcement units, the Chief Public Prosecutor's offices are effectively conducting 'virtual patrol' activities in digital environments. Judicial processes, including detention and search operations, are being meticulously carried out against individuals assessed to be making posts containing criminal elements, with content constituting a crime being identified in a short time.
