Striking 'governance' message from İmamoğlu regarding CHP's convention: 'Not long now'

The CHP's 39th Ordinary Convention, which will last for three days, begins tomorrow. On the first day of the convention, which will take place at the Ankara Arena Sports Hall on November 28-29-30, the party program will be presented for the approval of the members. The CHP's program will be changed for the first time in 17 years.

No candidate is expected to run against Chairman Özgür Özel in the general chairmanship election on Saturday.

On Sunday, the election for the 60-member Party Assembly, the CHP's highest decision-making body, will be held. A significant change is expected in the Party Assembly (PM). More than 1,300 delegates will cast their votes at the convention, which will be held under the slogan "Now is the Time for Power."

CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu also shared a message regarding his party on his social media account ahead of the convention.

İmamoğlu's post is as follows:

"Children of the Republican People's Party,

The eyes of millions are upon us,

We are the hope of millions.

Millions in this country did their part in the 2024 elections and showed that they wanted to change the government.

Millions in this country have been shouting every single day since March 19, 2025, that they want to get rid of this incompetent, this tyrannical government.

Now the responsibility is ours.

The responsibility, the duty belongs to us, the members of the CHP.

We will uphold the desire of the millions.

We will realize the hope of the millions.

Millions are ready for the CHP.

Turkey is ready for the CHP.

And the CHP is ready to govern Turkey.
