2027 Budget: Taxes for the people, tax exemptions for capital
We are living in an economy where numbers have lost their meaning.
On one side, the people, who are counting every 5 or 10 liras while living below the hunger and poverty line,
On the other side, the executives, bureaucrats, and cronies playing with billions...
While experiencing such contradictions, the people's representatives are discussing the 2027 budget proposal in Parliament.
In other words, they are debating from whom and where money will be collected next year, and to whom and where this money will be spent.
In fact, it is a debate with a predetermined outcome.
With the votes of the ruling party and its partner, the budget proposed by the government will be accepted,
And this order, which condemns the people to hunger and poverty, will continue.

Let us leave the analysis of the budget to experts and economists,
Let us talk about the facts that are clearly visible.
In the 2027 budget proposal,
• Expenditures are 27 trillion 276 billion TL,
• Revenues are 23 trillion 408 billion TL,
• Budget deficit is 3 trillion 868 billion TL,
• Interest expenses are 3 trillion 975 billion TL.
As a citizen, let us question why the budget has such a large deficit and why such high interest expenses are being paid.
They say that every country has a budget deficit and interest expenses, but with one difference,
The figures for the last 5 years at the end of the article show that,
Both the budget deficit and interest expenses are increasing exponentially every year.
This means there is a chronic problem in this broken, unsupervised, and uncontrolled economic order.
The root of the problem is the free-market economy based on money markets, which is a form of neo-liberalism that has excluded production and labor since 1980.
As a result of these policies, which tie our economy to hot money inflows by offering high interest rates,
The Republic of Turkey has today borrowed a total of 539 billion dollars. (Central Bank)
And for the interest on these debts, 3 trillion 975 billion TL will be paid in 2027.
*
The fund scandal we are currently experiencing is also a result of this order.
The damage caused to the economy by the fund scandal is approximately 5 trillion 500 billion TL. (110 billion dollars)
This loss is greater than both the budget deficit and the interest expenses.
This budget deficit, these interest payments, and the damage from the fund scandal...
The people will pay for it, meaning we will pay for it again.
In the budget proposal, 85 percent of the revenue (19 trillion 906 billion TL) comes from taxes,
And 60 percent of these taxes consist of income taxes deducted at the source from the salaries of retirees, workers, and civil servants,
And indirect taxes we pay for everything we buy, regardless of whether we are rich or poor.

A striking piece of information also came from Prof. Dr. Aziz Konukman.
A total of 4.9 trillion liras in tax collection will be waived under the name of "tax deductions, exemptions, and exceptions."
Approximately 1.9 trillion of this amount consists of exemptions such as the minimum wage portion of all salaries, and widow and orphan pensions.
This leaves 3 trillion in taxes that are being waived,
And for some reason, one thinks of the tax exemptions and deferrals provided to crony companies that do all the construction work.
Even this figure is an amount that would cover the budget deficit.

There will be no change in the fields of education, health, and labor, which are fundamental human rights but have been commodified.
Furthermore, anyone looking at the numbers would think there is no poverty problem in the country.
• Education 2 trillion 910 billion TL,
• Social security 2 trillion 887 billion TL,
• Health 2 trillion 190 billion TL,
• Poverty alleviation and social assistance 833 billion TL.

The budget is a political document that shows which segments and which areas political parties prioritize when using the country's resources.
The 2027 budget proposal demonstrates the political preference and true face of the RTE-AKP, which ignores production, labor, and the people, and implements this profiteering economy where money is made from money.
Do not pay attention to the words, "We will not let the retirees, the workers, the People be crushed..."
Those who came to power with the votes they received from the people do not think of the people when preparing the budget.
Those who show the insufficiency of the economy to retirees and workers, and who mention austerity measures at every opportunity,
Do not refrain from protecting their power and prestige and living in luxury...
In short, they can stomach the fact that the people, who fill the treasury with their taxes, live in hunger and poverty.

In this laborless, unsupervised, and uncontrolled economic order where money is made from money,
The words of Minister of Treasury and Finance Şimşek in November 2025,
Are a confession that they knowingly and willingly turned a blind eye to the fund scandal happening today.
"We know that manipulations are being carried out through some funds, and we are aware of the need for regulation in this area."
How painful it is that while those who protect the crime and the criminal, and those who see but do not intervene, are sitting in their offices...
While those who earn billions from funds through illegal relationships are walking around freely...
Halk TV, which writes and tells the truths about what is happening, has been shut down, and real journalists like Murat Ağırel, İsmail Arı, Şaban Sevinç, and Mustafa Balcı have been arrested and are in prison.

What we are experiencing is a result of moving away from the principles of the Republic of Turkey and its production-based mixed economy policy.
The words of our Republic's founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, 85 years ago are a summary of today.
"Societies that want to live comfortably without working, without getting tired, and without producing;
Are doomed to lose first their dignity, then their freedom, and then their independence and future."
The political opposition must see this truth and clearly state that it will change this system of exploitation,
And that it will implement the Republic's public-oriented and developmentalist mixed economy based on production.
