TKP speaks out from in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: ‘That signature must be withdrawn’
The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) protested the fact that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s signature was included on behalf of Turkey in a declaration condemning Iran while ignoring the international law-violating attacks by the US and Israel, following the summit titled "Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Arab and Islamic Countries" held with the participation of 12 countries.
The TKP issued a call demanding the withdrawal of the signature, stating, "Far from saying a single word about the US and Israel staining the region with blood, signing this text on behalf of Turkey that condemns Iran due to the attacks is a document of shame." The party held a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara.
‘DO NOT FORGET THE 6TH FLEET’
During the action organized by the TKP, a banner reading “We do not accept the shameful declaration: That signature must be withdrawn!” was unfurled, while slogans such as “Murderer US, collaborator AKP”, “The Iranian people are not alone”, and “Imperialists, collaborators, do not forget the 6th Fleet” were chanted.
‘LET US REMEMBER, LET US REMIND’
Making statements, TKP Central Committee member Ali Ufuk Arikan said, “Let us remember, let us remind. It is clear that they forget quickly. It is clear that they have forgotten the genocide in Palestine. It is clear that they have forgotten the bombs rained down on the people of Lebanon. It is clear that they were more than happy with the rule of jihadist gangs in Syria. It is clear that the thuggish attack in Venezuela did not teach them anything. In June of last year, the genocide gang called Israel rained bombs on our brother, neighbor, the Iranian people for exactly 12 days. They did not get what they wanted. They made military buildups in our region for months. And, in a manner befitting them, while negotiations were ongoing and, moreover, while third countries that were parties to these negotiations said ‘we are close to a result’, they attacked treacherously, just as befits Israel and the US, in the final days of February. Today it has been 25 days. For 25 days, they have been raining bombs on this country, on our neighbor, the Iranian people.” Arikan then continued, “Who are these people raining bombs, friends? Murderer Israel, which has signed one of the most barbaric and cruel genocides in human history in Palestine, and its leader Netanyahu. The rogue country called the US, which kidnapped the leader of a country just three months ago. They are raining bombs on the Iranian people in concert and cooperation. From the very first day of the war, they killed the leader of a country. They killed dozens of its commanders and political leaders. But not just them; they massacred 160 girls in Minab by bombing them, dropping two separate bombs on them. They started by doing the same thing in Iran as they are doing in Palestine. They started by treacherously and murderously killing children,” he stated.

‘IRAN IS THE ONE BEING ACCUSED’
Stating that they also came together to show solidarity with the Iranian people, Arikan pointed out that the aggression of the US and Israel was never mentioned throughout the signed text. Arikan said, “For 25 days, hospitals and schools have continued to be hit. They want a country to bow down; who will it bow down to? They want it to bow down to Trump. They want it to bow down to the murderer, the criminal called Netanyahu. This is the reason for this sea of blood. The Iranian people are not bowing down. The Iranian people are not surrendering. Just as the Palestinian people are not bowing down or surrendering. This is one reason why we have come together here today. To salute the Iranian people who do not bow down. Another reason is against those who attempt to smear our country’s reputation.
The war has been going on for 25 days. They are attacking basely. Representatives of 12 countries, Foreign Ministers, came together in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They said, ‘We have gathered as Foreign Ministers of countries representing Arab peoples and Muslim peoples.’ They gathered, they gathered against the ongoing war in Iran, and they made a decision. They published a declaration. That shameful declaration was signed on behalf of our country. Throughout the text, the person being accused, the place being accused, the people being accused is the Iranian people. The state being accused is Iran.

You sign such a text, wouldn't the name of murderer Netanyahu be mentioned once in the text? Wouldn't the name of murderer Israel be mentioned once? Wouldn't the name of murderer US be mentioned a single time? Not only is it not mentioned, but they also tell Iran to ‘stop your attacks immediately.’ By what right, with what audacity, with what legitimacy? Is your power against the weapons used by a people standing up to murderers? You cannot tell the murderers to stop, you cannot name them. Is your power only enough for the Iranian people? Your power is not enough. It is not enough, you have no such legitimacy,” he said.
‘YOU WILL IMMEDIATELY REMOVE OUR COUNTRY’S NAME’
Criticizing the foreign policy for exhibiting a pro-US and pro-Israel stance and stating that this cannot be justified by national interests, Arikan said, “First, you will name it. You will say, ‘our side is the side of Israel, our side is the side of Netanyahu.’ You will name it, you will say, ‘we are not interested in the brotherly Iranian people being bombed. We don't care about the 160 girls who died in Minab. That is why we say our side is the checkbooks and safes of the bosses. That is why our side is the same as Israel and the US.’
The representatives of those 12 countries will say this too. But the representatives of those 12 countries have also lost the legitimacy to represent the peoples of those countries from the moment they signed that declaration. Our side is with the Palestinian people. Our side is with the brotherly Iranian people. Our side is on the same side as the working peoples resisting the US thugs and Israeli thuggery in Venezuela, in Cuba, and all over the world. Our side is clear. If their sides are this clear, let them declare it. Let them say, ‘We don't have the power to stand up to the US.’ Let them say, ‘We don't have the power to stand up to Israel. That is why we signed this declaration.’ But you do not have the legitimacy or the authority to sign that declaration on behalf of our country, on behalf of Turkey. You do not have the authority to sign on behalf of our people a text where Israel and the US are not condemned. It is not your place, you will immediately remove our country’s name from that declaration.

They keep insisting on ‘our national interests.’ ‘We do not speak out against Israel because of our national interests. We do not challenge the US because of our national interests. We have bases of the murderer NATO in our country because of our national interests. We have bases of the rogue US in our country because of our national interests. We have radar centers that transmit information to Israel for our national interests. They say, ‘for our national interests.’ We are fed up with this nonsense. What you call national interest is nothing but the pockets of the bosses in this country. The heart of the working people of this country beats with the Iranian people, with the Palestinian people. Not with Netanyahu, not with Trump. Our national interest is, quite well, with the Iranian people, with the Palestinian people,” he declared.

‘THIS SHAME BELONGS TO THEM’
Responding to Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s words, “If you do not have a sufficient amount of technological advancement or military ammunition, do not even get into a polemic with Israel and the US” and “Their leaders were killed, their commanders were killed. Iran should see this as a window of opportunity. It should make concessions to the US, make concessions to Israel. It should look for a way to reach an agreement,” Arikan replied, “Should the Palestinian people bow down? Should they surrender to Israel just because its weapons are more advanced? Should they bow down to the US? Should the Cuban people bow down just because the US has more advanced weapons? Should our country, our people, our working people bow down just because their weapons and technology are more advanced? This shame does not belong to our people, friends. This shame belongs to them,” he said.
