Ümit Özdağ's comment on the new party: For the first time in Turkish history, the party leadership has left the party

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ made statements regarding the agenda at a press conference held at his party's headquarters. During the meeting, Özdağ was asked for his assessment regarding Özgür Özel's announcement of a "new path, a new party formation" at the latest CHP Group Meeting.

''I HAVE TAKEN PART IN THE FOUNDING OF TWO PARTIES IN 10 YEARS''

Özdağ wished success to Özel and those acting with him. Stating that he knows the difficulty of founding a new party closely, Özdağ noted that he has taken part in the founding of two parties in the last 10 years. Özdağ stated that he was first involved in the founding of the IYI Party with Meral Akşener, and then founded the Zafer Party with his friends.

Reminding that the Zafer Party will reach its fifth year on August 26, Özdağ also made an assessment regarding the process of Özel and his friends leaving the CHP. Özdağ said that it will be seen in the coming period whether the party to be established after this separation will follow a different line from the CHP.

''Usually, those who leave a party are in opposition to the party leadership and leave that way. Here, for the first time in Turkish history, something like this is happening. The party leadership has left the party.''

Stating that it will become clear over time whether the new formation will continue the policies followed in the CHP or determine a different political line, Özdağ expressed that more sound assessments can be made after this picture is seen.
