Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: The debates within the CHP do not interest me at all

Kılıçdaroğlu visited seasonal agricultural workers in the Polatlı district of Ankara. Greeting the agricultural workers, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu listened to the citizens' demands and problems.

Following the visit, Kılıçdaroğlu made a statement to the press. When asked about the statement made by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli regarding the new party to be formed by Özgür Özel, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "My agenda is different; my agenda is the people's agenda. Party A said this, Party B said that; what is said is important. My duty is to come together with the segments of society whose problems are intense but forgotten.

I set out to solve the problems of people who collect paper from the trash and people who work in the fields without set hours and earn their living by the sweat of their brow. This is my understanding of politics. I am not going elsewhere to engage in politics; I am engaging in politics among the people. Therefore, one must move beyond daily, petty debates.

If my name is Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, I have to address everyone's problems in this country. Whether they vote for me or not. Whether they prefer me or not. I have to solve their problems. Therefore, the debates within the CHP do not interest me at all. Whoever wants to deal with the problems of this country will come to me, we will go together, and we will address the problems together. We will never, ever be the spokesperson for anyone," he said.
