Ersan Şen stated that an extrajudicial execution is being carried out against the Polat couple, saying, "Where the presumption of innocence still holds, it is not right to punish people based on social media posts. Being wealthy is not a crime. Are you the judicial authority?"

İsmail Saymaz did not delay in reacting to these words from Ersan Şen. Saymaz responded to Ersan Şen with the words, "Professor, how do you know an extrajudicial execution is taking place? You are saying, 'What do you have in your hands to accuse these people?'" Ersan Şen replied to Saymaz, "You are also carrying out an extrajudicial execution."
