YENİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın made statements regarding the current agenda following the opening ceremony of his party's Mecitözü district office in Çorum. Criticizing the government over the fund fraud allegations, Günaydın claimed that certain names are being hidden from the public.
Comparing the scale of the allegations to the Banker Kastelli incident, Günaydın stated that the fund fraud has reached a magnitude exceeding 830 billion liras, while the damage caused by Banker Kastelli was 150 billion liras. Raising the allegation that "214 high-level AKP members have a hand in this business," Günaydın demanded that the Central Registry Agency records be disclosed.
CRITICISM OF THE 'RIGHT NOT TO BE STIGMATIZED'
Günaydın criticized the failure to disclose the names linked to the fund fraud allegations on the grounds of the "right not to be stigmatized." Arguing that footage of opposition mayors during detention and arrest processes is leaked to the public, Günaydın said that the same sensitivity is not being shown in this case.
Stating that the names will eventually come to light, Günaydın said, "Nothing remains hidden under this sky. Eventually, all of these names will be reached." Günaydın also stated that if they had the Central Registry Agency information in their possession, they would disclose all of it.
Rejecting the blackmail allegations directed at them, Günaydın emphasized that in a state of law, everyone who gets rich through politics must be held accountable. Günaydın used the expression, "If there is even one YENİ Party member of parliament among them, let us punish them first."
