32-day deposit return for 1 million TL updated: The highest net gain has been determined

The current landscape for time deposit interest rates, closely monitored by savers looking to protect their savings against inflation, has been reshaped. In calculations based on a 1 million TL principal and a 32-day maturity, the difference in net returns between banks has drawn attention.

According to current data, the net gain that 1 million TL will provide over a 32-day maturity has been calculated as a minimum of 21,179 TL and a maximum of 29,927 TL. Türk Ticaret Bankası took the top spot on the list with an interest rate of 45.25 percent and a net gain of 29,927 TL.

On the participation banking side, returns calculated based on profit-sharing rates stood out. While Hayat Finans offered a net gain of 29,481 TL with a 40.76 percent profit-sharing rate, Vakıf Katılım provided a net gain of 28,968 TL with a 39.5 percent profit-sharing rate.

In time deposit accounts, the net amount at maturity is as important as the gross rate.

GROSS RATE AND NET GAIN DIFFERENCE

The gross interest rates announced by banks do not solely show the net amount that will be credited to the account at the end of the maturity period. Income tax withholding and, in some account types, conditions regarding non-interest-bearing demand balances can pull the final return down.

In deposit comparisons, not only the interest rate but also the net gain is considered.

For this reason, some accounts offering higher gross rates may provide lower net returns than standard time deposit accounts due to these conditions. Experts state that when choosing a deposit, campaign conditions and the net amount to be obtained at the end of the maturity should be evaluated together.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES IN DIGITAL CHANNELS

The advantages offered by digital channels in deposit accounts are also effective in the decisions of savers. Many banks can offer different rates or campaign conditions for time deposit accounts opened via mobile and internet banking compared to accounts opened at the branch.

In time deposits, the balance at maturity is formed after the net gain is added.

For this reason, it is recommended to look not only at the gross interest rate but also at the account type, withholding tax deduction, campaign conditions, and the net amount that will be credited to the account at the end of the maturity before making an investment decision.
