Critical meeting for 131 funds chaired by Mehmet Şimşek! Liquidation and payment process on the table
Processes regarding 131 investment funds from 7 portfolio management companies will be discussed at a meeting chaired by Mehmet Şimşek.
A meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek regarding the liquidation and payment processes for 131 investment funds managed by 7 portfolio management companies.
According to information obtained from the Ministry, Şimşek will return to Turkey from the US today around noon following the United Nations General Assembly meetings. Following his return, technical studies regarding the funds will be discussed at a meeting to be held with the participation of relevant institutions and organizations.
The meetings are expected to continue tomorrow. During the discussions, implementation principles aimed at conducting the liquidation and payment processes in a fair, sound, and timely manner will be evaluated.
It was stated that protecting the rights and interests of investors will be the primary priority in these efforts. Furthermore, steps that can be taken within the framework of the duties and authorities of the relevant institutions to support the healthy functioning of markets and financial stability will be addressed.
It is also planned to evaluate inter-institutional coordination and the roadmap to be followed at a technical level during the meetings.
