Gram gold races toward 7 thousand liras: All-time record broken
Geopolitical and trade tensions in global markets have increased demand for safe-haven assets. The ounce price of gold reached a historic peak, hitting 4,861 dollars, while the gram price in the Grand Bazaar rose to 6,896 TL.
U.S. President Donald Trump's statements regarding Greenland and the trade tensions seen as potentially escalating between Europe and the U.S. have caused investors to turn toward safe-haven assets. Under the influence of these developments, gold prices reached a new record level on Wednesday.
In global markets, the ounce price of gold climbed above 4,861 dollars, recording its highest level of all time.
6,896 TL IN THE GRAND BAZAAR
The sharp rise in the ounce price of gold was also reflected in the gram price in the domestic market. In the Grand Bazaar, the gram price of gold rose to the 6,896 TL level.
