The possibility of adding a welfare share to the increase in pensions in January remains on the agenda. It is stated that the regulation may not be limited to the 6-month inflation increase; additional increase options may be evaluated based on the legal process and budget possibilities.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had stated that steps would be taken to increase the purchasing power of retirees. Erdoğan pointed to the end of the year, saying, "Hopefully, we are creating the financial means in the 2027 budget to slightly improve the situation of our retirees, who are the crown of our heads."

With the last increase made in July, the lowest pension had risen to 23,552 TL. In the same period, while SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees received a 17.76 percent raise based on 6-month inflation data, the increase rate for civil servants and civil servant retirees, including the inflation difference and collective bargaining raise, was 13.52 percent.

SCENARIOS DISCUSSED FOR WELFARE SHARE
According to the calculations of Sabah columnist Faruk Erdem, the inflation-based increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in January is expected to be approximately 10 percent. It is evaluated that a welfare share in the range of 10 to 20 points could be added on top of this rate. However, there is no finalized decision on these topics; the scope and rate of the regulation will become clear through the legal process.

| Scenario | Calculated amount |
|---|---|
| Current base salary | 23,552.00 TL |
| 10 percent inflation increase | 25,907.20 TL |
| 5 point welfare share | 27,202.56 TL |
| 10 point welfare share | 28,497.92 TL |
| 15 point welfare share | 29,793.28 TL |
| 20 point welfare share | 31,088.64 TL |

One of the topics on the agenda is how the increase will be reflected in the base salary. In the current system, the pensions of retirees receiving low payments are topped up to the base amount with Treasury support. For this reason, retirees whose base salary remains below the base pension may not see some increases directly in their salaries to the same extent.

To reduce base salary differences, a gradual flat increase based on the number of premium days and the amount of premiums paid is also shown among the options. If such a model is implemented, it may be aimed at making the salary differences between retirees more balanced.

COMMON RAISE SYSTEM AND SOCIAL SUPPORTS
Different calculation methods are applied for different groups in pensions. While the pensions of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees are increased according to 6-month inflation, the collective bargaining raise and inflation difference come into play for civil servant retirees. It is stated that a more common system may be brought to the agenda to reduce these differences.

In addition to salary regulations, social support topics for retirees are also being discussed. It is stated that options such as energy and food support, rent and housing assistance, and child support may be evaluated in the coming process. However, the final decision on these topics will also depend on budget possibilities and the legal regulation calendar.
