Four suspects have been detained in an investigation into allegations of manipulation regarding certain transactions in the Borsa İstanbul equity market.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of an investigation launched upon a report from the Capital Markets Board, examined posts made in 2023 on the X account named "bySerez" regarding 9 shares traded on the BIST.
During the investigation, it was determined that the posts in question were manipulative in nature, and detention warrants were issued for 5 suspects on charges of "information-based market fraud."
In the operation conducted in line with the decision, 4 suspects were apprehended. It was learned that efforts are continuing to capture 1 suspect who is reported to be at large.
