Mehmet Şimşek announces support for exporters
As Eximbank's capital increases to 88.4 billion TL, 53 billion dollars in support is planned for exporters this year.
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek made important statements regarding financial support for exporters. Stating that Eximbank's capital has increased more than 5-fold to reach 88.4 billion TL, Şimşek expressed that the bank is expected to provide a total of 53 billion dollars in cash and non-cash support to exporters this year.
In a statement made via social media, Minister Şimşek announced that the daily limit for rediscount credits has been increased from 300 million TL to 4.5 billion TL in order to facilitate exporters' access to financing. He emphasized that these credits are provided at approximately half the cost of market interest rates and that their scope has been expanded.
Furthermore, noting that the total limit for foreign currency-denominated rediscount credits has been raised to 1 billion dollars, Şimşek said these steps will contribute to exporters moving up in global value chains. Şimşek added that they will continue to resolutely support exports and value-added production.
