Mehmet Şimşek: 'Implementing some reforms is now an unavoidable necessity'
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek highlighted the 2025 inflation rate targets and emphasized production and reform. He stated that they are determined to lower inflation.
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek spoke at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Emerging Markets Forum held in Istanbul.
Giving messages regarding Turkey's economic outlook and reform process, Minister Şimşek stated regarding the fight against inflation, "We are determined to bring inflation down."
Expressing that economic transformation is possible through reforms, Şimşek said, "Implementing some reforms is very important; we need reforms to increase production."
Also including climate change and demographic developments in his presentation, Minister Mehmet Şimşek said, "Climate change is not an option for us, it is a necessity. There is a loss of momentum in our young population, but we expect it to remain positive until 2025."
